Our special Gau box necklaces featuring Green Tara have a multitude of gemstones. Sea Glass has ancient Roman sea glass, green onyx, turquoise, lapis and prehnite. The Turquoise Amber has African glass beads, lapis, quartz, turquoise and amber-hued Czech glass. Both necklaces are 26" at their fullest extension; the pendant paintings are 2" X 1.5". Each one is framed in white bronze, with the Sea Glass frame in a lotus pattern. The Amber version has an ogee-shaped cutout.
Tara is the most beloved of all the female enlightened beings in Tibetan Buddhism. She has different manifestations represented by different colors – white, green, yellow, blue, and red. Green Tara brings about enlightened activity and active compassion. Green Tara is the original who gave rise to all others. When shown with the other Taras she is considered to be the goddess of good fortune.
