This itajime teal burst print and textured shimmery white coat is created from a glorious synsilk that wears and washes well. The fabulous shimmer and shine is seen in the flattering vertical metallic lines along the lapel and sleeve cuffs. A soft v-neck and button front means it works with different necklines and can be styled in a myriad of ways. Full-length sleeves and V split on sides to fit and flatter many body types.
The word Itajime means "board-clamping" in Japanese. It is a type of shibori from Japan and was introduced to artisans from Gujarat and Rajasthan in the early 20th century. A tie-dying method which employs pieces of wood clamped together around sections of folded fabric, it's a dye-resist technique.
