COOL BLUES & GREENS ITAJIME SCARF

The word Itajime means "board-clamping" in Japanese. It is a type of shibori from Japan and was introduced to artisans from Gujarat and Rajasthan in the early 20th century.  A tie-dying method which employs pieces of wood clamped together around sections of folded fabric, it's a dye-resist technique. Our stunning tussar silk scarf is soft hues of marine blue, sky blue & sage, all created with indigo and pomegranate. Measuring just 17.5" wide, its length is an impressive 79" of flowing hand-dyed fabric. Twisted fringes are 3" long.
