The deity Tara, a female Buddha, is the goddess of universal compassion who represents virtuous and enlightened activity. She is depicted in myriad colors, three of which we share with you. Price is $225 for each necklace:
White Tara (A) represents compassion. She is set in a bronze metal 2" pendant frame with embossed mantra and scroll work. She hangs from a 24" strand of iridescent hematite, Afghan jade and gold plated beads.
Red Tara (B) represents love. She is set in a silver ogee shaped frame with OM mantra script and swirly etched textures. Magnificent fire opal, blue-green apatite, crystal, and Czech glass beads make up the decorative necklace. It measures 22" long.
Red Tara (C) is framed in a lotus edged bronze box with a double dorje embossed on the back. Apatite, pearls, jade and striated agate with tassel reflect all of the beautiful colors in Tara painting. Necklace measures 23" and is finished with a brass chain extension.
The miniature paintings of Tara are encased in these gau boxes, which are protective amulets. The wearer can add talismans or special prayers that help to heal or prevent illness or bad luck. What will you carry in yours?
