Terra cotta, adobe, burnt sienna, amber & sunset pink form a desert landscape kissed by the warm rays of the sun. The bodice of this comfortable coat is a textured weave of soft orange and pale turquoise trimmed with an orange and cream gingham check. The bodice is fully lined with the gingham check silk. The lower half is a festive digital print of kaleidoscope imagery of triangles and abstract fleur de lie. It has a very painterly feel. The fabric is a sumptuous synsilk/rayon blend with a lot of movement. The buttons are a burnt gold rectangle with a deco vibe. Andrea modeled this with a rust Mongolian lamb collar, but certainly can be worn without the collar. She is wearing a size Small, 38" chest.
Andrea conceived of this upcycled coat in the spring of 2023 when she was in India. Long ago, she had made several silk cropped jackets. Those which did not sell were brought back to India and then upcycled them into this glorious masterpiece.
